From the Arabian Sea: A Look Inside Karachi's Seafood Export Chain
Prawns, cuttlefish, ribbon fish and kingfish — the daily journey from harbour to IQF tunnel to reefer container.
Karachi Fish Harbour lands over 90,000 tonnes of seafood a year. For exporters, the challenge is not sourcing — it is compressing the timeline from catch to freeze to under 12 hours.
Our seafood programme partners with a fleet of licensed trawlers whose catch is graded on-shore and moved directly to our IQF (individually quick-frozen) tunnels. Product core temperature drops from ambient to –30°C in under 40 minutes, locking in flavour and texture.
Compliance is a full-time discipline. Every consignment carries EU-approved traceability documentation, catch certificates, and — where required — mercury and heavy-metal test reports from an independent lab.
